It is mainly due to sulphur application on the waste land having alkaline reaction. Experimental crops Jatropha and mint have also shown beneficial effect on soil properties and plant growth. Sulphur in soil may produce sulphuric acid which is able to decline alkalinity of the concerned experimental soil. As a result concerned problem soil has become almost normal.
