These ligands were easily prepared and were employed in the synthesis of number of successful combinations such as [(TrenSal)2M3], [(TEtSalNi)2Pb] and [{(H6TrenSal)Zn]}ZnCl]. Several compounds were prepared using copper, nickel, zinc and cerium among other metals. The aim is to produce redoxactive metal complexes that could be used as a catalyst.
