The oil can also be used as a hair conditioner, a colorant, and applied to the skin. In addition, the oil is rich in essential fatty acids (palmitic, stearic, oleic and linoleic), which the body cannot synthesize naturally, but are vital in maintaining good health. The oil has been shown to have some antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory activity due to the presence of a number of limonoids, e.g., Trichilin A.
