The story of Solomon's ascension to the David throne epitomizes the struggles of ancient Israel in handling the issue of the transfer of power. The book invetigates this phenomenon by examining the multiple factors that were at play during the ascension of Solomon to the Davidic throne. The study uses the biblical story to draw attention to the increasing succession problems in African societies.
