The state of the contemporary world enforces on us a need for reflection on the mission of Christianity in the postmodern world, especially in western societies. The urgency is underscored by the fact that we can in this environment see the Christian message in its historical continuity from the Apostolic Age until now. What is more it is in western societies that we can see with some clarity the cultural consequences of the interaction of the Christian message with the society particularly in re-shaping the cultural forms and values of the society.
