It is an effective way to connect with students and have them experience learning while having fun. In this book, the author created 18 geometry lessons that were designed to replace portions of a middle grades geometry in standard textbooks. This book supported claims that students appreciate the contributions of cultures that are different from their own and linking the study of mathematics with other disciplines and cultures provides more meaning to the mathematics studied.It also showed that many students appreciated the mathematics topics because they saw a direct and human way of applying them. The students appeared to be highly motivated and involved with the lessons, and classroom discussions were lively with broad participation.
