The Act provides protection to consumers with reference to standards of performance. If a licensee fails to meet the specified standards then disregarding any penalty that may be imposed or prosecution pronounced, the regulatory commissions will have powers to impose appropriate compensation to be paid to the affected person within the time limit. There is little published work on Law relating to Electricity available. This book will therefore be of interest to lawyers, economists and policy makers in general, and not just in the procurement field. More specifically, it is hoped that the results will bring new changes in Electricity sector for settling disputes and in protection of consumer rights.
