The proposed system provides an interactive and adaptive environment through which symptoms are linked with illness. Each new patient is asked a yes/no question concerning his or her symptoms, and responses are recorded. The diagnosis works by matching symptoms of known illness with recorded responses in decreasing order of complexity. Inductive reasoning (in the form of generalization) is used to update illness symptoms.
