It used both qualitative and quantitative analytical tools to examine the data. Our analysis reveals that most clients earn relatively low incomes but engage in multiple jobs and use traditional saving practices to deal with income shocks. We separated clients into two based on their longevity of participation, and constructed vulnerability and empowerment indicators to run logistic regression. We found that old clients have received greater benefits and are more empowered from the programme compared to new clients. The author himself is a product of an unschooled mother who did everything possible to educate her children.
