The use of multiple media is increasingly prevalent in application areas such as entertainment, communication, collaborative work, electronic commerce, and university courses. Increased availability and easy access to electronic multimedia information brings new challenges to all areas involving data management, especially in terms of retrieval, synchronization, and transportation of a large volume of media-generated data.
