These alternative fuels should be preferably available from renewable sources. Therefore, attention is mainly focused towards biomass- based fuels. Alternative considered are ethanol, methanol, biogas and vegetable oil, methyl or ethyl ester of vegetable oil (biodiesel).Karanja bio-diesel production should be improved according to higher environmental impacts than the conventional diesel fuel from life cycle aspects.
