Reducing the emission levels from the equipment fleet is a benefit to society through improved health, and to public agencies through reaching conformity and attainment. However, purchasing these emission reduction technologies is a cost to TxDOT. Therefore, it is essential for TxDOT to use their budget effectively to deploy the emission reduction technologies optimally to reduce emissions from their fleet in a cost effective manner.
