Proper water management is vital to guarantee achieving maximum performance and durability of proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cell. Therefore, how to maintain the delicate balance between membrane hydration and avoid water flooding has become principle goal to develop strategies for proper water management. Two methods of water management were introduced in this work, which including of operational control and sequential exhaust control. These methods of water management have been already performed in the conventional PEM fuel cell stack. However, there was less report of using them for the strip cell stack configuration. Since there are many advantages of direct visualization technique and also the strip cell stack in this work was assembled in the transparent configuration.
