This work is aimed at studying the state of deteriorated public properties, how they can be properly maintained and their effect on the economy of a nation. The background of the topic in question relates maintenance, management and how it is being practiced in Nigeria. From the findings it was discovered that Government only cannot give the people a suitable public property without the support of the private partners. So government should encourage proper maintenance of the existing ones instead of developing new properties if not the newly developed ones will also suffer what the old ones are suffering.
