With this purpose, the province of K?rklareli, found in the Thrace region in the northwest part of Turkey, has been selected as the area of the study. At the start of the study an evaluation model was developed using the following ecological construction criteria; energy efficiency, water efficiency, material efficiency, control of environment, protecting ecosystem and the provision of comfort conditions. Then, thirty examples of wood, adobe, and stone building systems found in the area of study having different geographical characteristics, were analyzed using the evaluation model.
