Because of these changes, many of them fall outside the realm of family care. The only support system which exists for their care needs is the institutional care. Therefore, they seek refuge in old age homes for survival, companionship and protection. Institutional care has its own challenges. This study highlights the major problems experienced by the aged of the Anglo-Indian origin in one of the old age homes in Chennai, Southern India.
