The Karbis are the indigenous population of Karbi Anglong district of Assam, India. Their origin, migration and cultural tradition bears a special significance. In their livelihood, socio cultural norms values and customs are an inseparable part. This tradition is transmitted among them generation after generation. The present study is a brief discussion about their society and cultural tradition as well as its resemblance in their livelihood.
