It attempts to find out the reasons that are responsible for middle school pupils’ switch. It takes Tlemcen middle school pupils as a case study. It hypothesizes that the pupils use Algerian Arabic in classroom interaction because of lack of fluency in Modern Standard Arabic and negative attitudes towards it.
