Galactose enriched diet induced cataract in albino rat through elevated generation of reactive oxygen species in eye lens. In addition, there is a concurrent imbalance in the levels of antioxidant. Oral co-administration or post galactose administration with curcumin or resveratrol resulted in protection or reversal of cataract by curcumin or resveratrol respectively.
