Water is the most vital element for the life. Most of the rural population in India does not get good quality of water even for drinking. A number of factors contribute to the scarcity and pollution of the water. While the wide spacio-temporal variations of rainfall and hydro geological conditions are the main reasons for the scarcities, illiteracy, lack of education and industrial effluents are the other reasons for pollution of water.
