Several possibilities exist which might account for the seasonal fluctuation in the prevalence of parasitic infection. Seasonality related to hosts feeding habit, immunological alterations, availability of infected intermediate hosts, hormonal changes, and temperature are the most frequent causes suggested for seasonal fluctuation in prevalence and abundance of parasitic infections .
