Studying the depletion of soil water from the root zone was used in irrigation scheduling to save on the applied irrigation water to these crops. The model prediction showed good agreement between measured and predicted yield and water consumptive use values, which implied that the model is capable of investigating alternatives deficit water irrigation, saline water irrigation and/or deficit saline water irrigation.The use of the model could partially replacing expensive field experiments. The ability of Yield-Stress model to simulate the effect of water and salinity stresses provide an appropriate irrigation management tool to maximize yield and to save irrigation water.
