Breeding programmes involving the selection of better accessions depend upon the available and potential variability in the genetic makeup. However, when the information on genetic correlation among green fodder yield and its components is available, the crucial task of screening the genetic material becomes easy. The present studies were undertaken to evolve an efficient selection benchmark to facilitate the future potential breeding programmes and to select the lines on the basis of possession of traits having high contribution to yield.
