China Cherry (Muntingia calabura) and Kumbhi (Careya arborea) is a little known tree species in the tropics and subtropics. China cherry produce small whitish flower with many anther. Small berries are turned into pink colour when they ripe. Berries are sweet in taste and also rich in nutritional quality. The shelf life of the berry is too low as a result delay harvesting cost a lots of damage. Kumbhi is also an important fruit trees considering its foliage, shade and windbreak properties. Ripe fruits of Kumbhi became juicy and rich in different alkaloids. This plant has different medicinal properties. Leaves of both the trees could be suitable as a fodder. The structure of the tree could make them as potential species for agro-forestry system. This study look at the details of the flower and fruit growth of both the species and suggested the suitable harvesting time along with the nutritional properties.
