The experiment consist three levels of treatments viz, A. planting material (3): Sprouted seed (M1), Nursery seedling (M2) and Clonal tiller (M3); B. Variety (2): Inbreed variety (BR11, Mukta)-V1 and Hybrid variety (Sonar Bangla-1)-V2; C. Planting method (2): Broadcast (T1) and Line sowing (T2). The experiment was laid out in a split- split-plot design with four replications. Experimental results showed that planting material had significant effect on all the agronomic parameters like plant height, number of tillers hill-1, Leaf area index (LAI), Total dry weight, flowering and maturity dates, filled grain panicle-1, 1000-grain weight, grain yield, straw yield and harvest index except effective tillers hill-1.
