The study revealed that the variety Vellayani Local recorded highest values for all the growth components like plant height, primary branches, number of leaves and dry matter accumulation. Yield components like crop duration, pod length, pod girth, mean pod weight, seeds per pod, pod yield per plant and test weight were also recorded highest by the variety Vellayani Local showing its greater adoptability under these agro-climatic conditions.
