Rising demand of water, specifically for irrigated agriculture, has brought new challenges to the water resources planners and managers. Realizing the demand gaps arising due to uneven spatio-temporal distribution of rainfall, it is necessary to create suitable irrigation facilities. Other than the modern micro-irrigation technologies, furrow irrigation has been the most efficient surface irrigation methods. Hence, a project was undertaken to study the infiltration capacity, water front advance and recession under furrow irrigation.
