Despite this, the coverage of microirrigation in the country is very meager compared to its total potential. It is identified that slow spread of microirrigation is not mainly due to economic reasons, but due to less awareness among the farmers about the real economic and revenue-related benefits of it. Therefore, there is a need to find out the ways and means to convince the farmers about the economic and social feasibility of micro-irrigation.
