Snap Bean is an important summer crop in Egypt for local consumption as well as for export. This crop is grown in the open field in two main seasons; i.e. spring and autumn. Root zone warming is more specific to soilless cultivation methods, and especially applicable to the nutrient film technique (NFT). On the other hand NFT system could be a suitable system for the production of snap bean in winter without the need of soil fumigation and soil heating.
