Goats, considered one of the hardiest animals ever to be domesticated by man, are an important source of income and occupation to a sizeable population comprising mainly the economically and socially backward classes of the society in India. Over the past decade, considerable research has been carried out on various aspects of goat production. The ultimate goal is to increase the value of feed resources by converting them into animal products such as milk, meat, hides and skins.
