The pseudorabies virus (PRV) is a neurotropic herpesvirus, it is a pathogen of swine, causing Aujeszky''s disease. PRV is a widely used model organism for studies in pathogenesis and molecular biology. This virus is also utilized as a neural circuit tracer.
