However, toxic side-effects, growing bacterial resistance and poor oral bioavailability have narrowed the significance of aminoglycosides. Synthesis of the various derivatives of aminoglycosides could be a versatile strategy to challenge these limitations. This book summarizes a variety of synthetic strategies utilized to diversify the natural aminoglycosides in an attempt to improve the overall characteristics of aminoglycosides.
