The book entitled “Modern synthetic strategy for anti-viral nucleosides” deals with the synthesis of four new series of nucleosides, their characterization and antiviral screening. Chemically, viruses are nucleoproteins containing either deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) or ribonucleic acid (RNA) surrounded by a protective protein sheath. Nucleoside analogues are used as anti-viral therapeutic agents. The development of antiviral drugs encountered lots of difficulties and the research in antiviral chemotherapy gained less attention.
