Monitoring and Assessment of water has become an environmental concern due to the contamination by man kind. One of the most important crises of the 21st century is the availability of drinking water, a resource basic to our survival and growth. The preservation and maintenance of our natural water resources is a very difficult task due to rapid growth of population and increased industrial activities, therefore quality of water resources is deteriorating day by day due to the continuous addition of undesirable chemicals. This project investigated that the drinking water of kurdistan region of iraq particularly in Duhok province has faced a severe pollution especially, heavy metal contamination.It is considered by a very dangerous type of contamination.This is due to improper treatment of water in the water purification projects at studied areas.
