More or less wetlands have direct or indirect association with human. India has vast distribution of wetlands in the forms of reservoirs, lakes, ponds, tanks, beels, boggs etc. India lies in tropical region hence it is rich in aquatic diversity. Limnological information of Indian wetlands may be helpful in devising a strategy to restore and conserve the wetlands as they are facing threats from various anthropogenic activities including point and non-point source of pollution.
