Integrated geophysical probes, remotely sensed data and field mapping of the ore bodies are techniques employed in assessing reserves while evalution of potential geotechnical challenges that may be envisaged are prosecuted from geotechnical mapping and hydraulic field tests. The results and methodology, as expressed, are considered pertinent for application in surface mine design, particularly, in soft earth systems.
