It lies between longitudinal rang 43o 30\ and 44o 45\ east and latitudinal rang between 13o 45\ and 14o 30\ north. The center of the governorate lays 190 Km south part of Sana’a (the capital of Yemen).About 416 species of plants were Studied belonging to 95 families,7 families of Pteridophyta, represented by 13 species, 8 genera, 2 families of Gymnosperms, represented by 3 species, 3 genera and the remaining 86 families are belonging to Angiosperms. Dicotyledons are represented by 338 species, 236 genera and 65 families and Monocotyledons are reported by 62 species, 47 genera and 21 families.
