Genomic and cDNA analysis identifies a common domain – Kin Homology Domain (KHD) to club them in a growing family of proteins potentially involved in cold resistance. These proteins appear to have adapted to disregulated pattern of expression for resistance against sudden exposure to extreme cold temperatures.
