Despite lot of experimental studies on the transient behavior of ML, no theory has been developed to explain satisfactorily the time-evolution of ML. This book explores a phenomenological theory for the transient behaviour of ML induced by impulsive deformation of fluorescent and phosphorescent crystals and makes a comparison between the theoretical and experimental results.
