Algerian women had a culture of staying at home, but with the beginning of this century, Algerian society begins to see women in positions of responsibility. Many of them chose to be entrepreneurs, which indicate that the country is experiencing profound social and cultural changes. Seeing women as entrepreneurs was inconceivable a few years ago, in a male and conservative society. Despite the improvement of her economy, Algeria is experiencing a high rate of unemployment, including among academics. This prompted the state to follow a policy of youth employment, by giving them different facilities and granting them loans in order to create their own businesses. These factors have encouraged women graduates to venture into the entrepreneurship businesses. The current environment in Algeria promotes access to education and training of girls, but the socio-cultural environment remains a difficult obstacle to overcome.
