The purpose of this research was to find out the role of Guidance and Counseling in secondary school students in Kenya. The research findings have revealed a number of emerging issues in student discipline especially on the causes and effects. The role of Guidance and Counseling in schools was emphasized by the respondents as a method of curbing student indiscipline.Both the teachers and students acknowledged that Guidance and Counseling had enhanced student discipline by promoting dialogue, enhancing student performance, guiding on career choices,guiding on social problems. The research revealed that parents and religious leaders did assist in student Guidance and Counseling.Parents, religious leaders and fellow students were important in the Guidance and Counseling processes in schools.There was a decrease in incidences of student indiscipline which was credited to the efforts to guide and counsel students in schools.Learners entry behaviors should be assessed and various...
