Africans face challenges from the African Traditional worldview. These challenges come in the form of witchcraft, magic, infertility and certain life crisis. It is during these times of crisis that African Christianity faces a challenge from the African Traditional Religious world. Consequently, the African Initiated Churches including the Followers of Christ Church of God have identified this urgent need for the Christian Church in Africa. This thesis critically reflects on Faith-healing as practised by the African Initiated Churches. The proposal of the thesis points to the need for a theology of healing in Africa. There is an urgent need for a pastoral theology of care and counseling especially in times of crisis. The thesis does not attempt to judge the praxis and theology of the African Initiated Churches, but it rather highlights the existential needs of Africans.
