There are about 1.5 million cases of cutaneous Leishmaniasis each year worldwide, with the bulk reported from Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Peru, and Pakistan. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Leishmaniasis is endemic in 88 countries, with a total of 350 million people at risk. It is believed that worldwide 12 million people are affected by Leishmaniasis. The contents of book are organized into 7 chapters. The 1st chapter very briefly introduces Leishmaniasis in humans and animals and provides a concise overview of clinical signs, diagnosis and treatment of this disease in humans.
