In recent years the subject reemerges in various ways on the working agenda. My aim in this book was to argue for a new sort of approach towards the topic. Taken into account the drawbacks of the previous conceptions but also the tendencies in actual research, I argue for a local, dynamic and non-theory driven kind of approach as the most promising one. Reference to models and the modeling processes would provide the frame for the articulation of such a view.
