Over time, human development goals and recently environment have become areas of important focus to provide aid by donors. In this, environment as one development goal has not attained the required attention before 1980s. Following the 1980s, however, particularly in 2000, ensuring environmental sustainability has become key development goal and is one of the MDGs for which donors entered into political commitment to provide aid for poor countries such as Ethiopia. Ethiopia is one of the poorest countries that have endorsed the MDGs.
