Consumer protection represents a subject we approach increasingly more often in everyday discussions, considering that we all are consumers and it is a native thing to be interested in our protection in this capacity ! The rationales of consumer protection starts from reasons which are not necessarily related to the rational or irrational character of his behavior. On the contrary, whether it is about an imbalance of economic, informational, judicial nature or at the level of interests representation, the cleavages which intervene within the market in producer – consumer relations unequivocally call for the intervention in favor of the latter. The institutionalization of consumer protection, as an instrument for guaranteeing his sovereignty within the market economy, however represents an extremely complex process, whose practical efficiency is conditioned by the quality of the partnership established between: the market, public power, the producer and the consumer.
