Many studies have been done involving the agouti but none of its brain. The agouti is evolving from a sole wildlife animal to a laboratory model and even as an exotic pet, hence the need to further this area of study. Some interesting results came about this study which will help further evolution and may even start the replacement of the rabbit with the agouti.
