In spite of extensive studies, the enhancement of dissolution rate of poorly water soluble drugs remains a challenge for the scientific community. A poor solubility results in poor availability for absorption which may ultimately lead to delayed onset of action and diminished therapeutic response. A wide range of technologies are currently available for improving the solubility of drugs.
