This will also helps the pain researchers to understand the relationship between pain and exercise. Very few existing pain studies have determined the pressure pain threshold (PPT) of different anatomical sites using the Quantitative Sensory Testing (QST) pressure algometer. Here we used upto date Somedic QST pressure algometer(2011) to measure pain. As a prelude to a larger study of the effect of exercise on knee pain in patients with osteoarthritis, we conducted a pilot study of PPT using a Somedic QST algometer in healthy volunteers.
