Due to the sensori-motor impairments, delayed physical development and functional activity limitations that characterize pediatric neurological conditions, physiotherapy plays an important role in facilitating recovery, minimizing secondary complications, and maximizing functional ability and the Health-related Quality of Life of affected children. This book reviewed records of all neurological conditions seen over a 3–year period at the physiotherapy clinic of a children’s hospital in Nigeria. In decreasing order, cerebral palsy, injection-induced sciatic nerve palsy and obstetric brachial plexus palsy were the three most common conditions. The predominance of these potentially preventable pediatric neurological conditions as reported in this book has implications for more public health efforts, standardization of health care delivery, and formulation and implementation of relevant government policies required to address issues of maternal and child health.
